Samantha Maw

Hi there:) I am Sam, and I have set up English Lincs to provide personalised support in Lincolnshire to people who want to improve their English skills.
I have been a qualified teacher since 2008 and I have a BA Hons/Master’s degree in English. I have delivered English and Drama in Primary and Secondary schools, both in the UK and abroad. I also have extensive experience working with children and young people with neuro-diverse learning needs, who are not reaching their potential in the busy classroom environment.
I am TEFL qualified (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and since 2019 I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language to individuals and community groups. My passion for reading and writing continues outside of English Lincs; I am a member of Unplugged Poetry (Boston) and Lincoln Creative Writers. I actively write and perform my poetry whenever time allows, and I regularly run poetry courses and events in the county.
I love all things literary, and I am confident that I can offer you an inspirational learning experience free from the traditional confines of the classroom!
Joanne Cox

I’m Jo, and I have been a qualified teacher since 1994, specialising in Key Stages 2 and 3. During my teaching career, I have been Deputy Headteacher, SENDCo, and class teacher; gaining a wealth of experience and knowledge over the years. I can offer KS2/3 Maths and English Booster Sessions and 11+ exam preparation.
I love working with students one-on-one and watching them discover their potential as they gain confidence and learn new skills. Creating a bespoke learning experience is key to a student’s progress, and I enjoy the creativity this brings. I do my best to make my sessions relevant and fun and will always take the time to reflect on what can do to make the sessions even better. I look forward to meeting you!
Sam was such a great help for my daughter. She’s always found English quite hard,
Dawn, GCSE parent
but Sam is so patient and has made the work really accessible and insightful.
Their sessions are always productive and definitely worth the confidence
my daughter now has doing her GCSEs this year. Couldn’t recommend enough
`Can’t recommend enough! Sam is empathic and responsive to our son’s attitude towards English and any ‘wobbles’. He is neurodivergent and she’s brilliant with him. He is finally enjoying English (to a point); Sam is fabulous and we would now be lost without her!`
Mandi, KS3 parent
`Thank you. You are a good tutor. I understood everything,
Rutele, EFL student
because you spoke so clearly.`
`I am so pleased the hard work paid off😊 Thank you for your support
Almante, 11+ parent
and useful tips at that time😊`
`Samantha’s poetry workshop really livened up our Events space and brought out the creative side of everyone who attended. Everyone loved it and they are now asking us for more of the same!`
