Samantha Maw
Hi there:) I am Sam, and I have set up English Lincs to provide personalised support in Lincolnshire to people who want to improve their English skills.
I have been a qualified teacher since 2008 and I have a BA Hons/Master’s degree in English. I have delivered English and Drama in Primary and Secondary schools, both in the UK and abroad. I also have extensive experience working with children and young people with neuro-diverse learning needs, who are not reaching their potential in the busy classroom environment.
I am TEFL qualified (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and since 2019 I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language to individuals and community groups. My passion for reading and writing continues outside of English Lincs; I am a member of Unplugged Poetry (Boston) and Lincoln Creative Writers. I actively write and perform my poetry whenever time allows, and I regularly run poetry courses and events in the county.
I love all things literary, and I am confident that I can offer you an inspirational learning experience free from the traditional confines of the classroom!
Joanne Cox
I’m Jo, and I have been a qualified teacher since 1994, specialising in Key Stages 2 and 3. During my teaching career, I have been Deputy Headteacher, SENDCo, and class teacher; gaining a wealth of experience and knowledge over the years. I can offer KS2/3 Maths and English Booster Sessions and 11+ exam preparation.
I love working with students one-on-one and watching them discover their potential as they gain confidence and learn new skills. Creating a bespoke learning experience is key to a student’s progress, and I enjoy the creativity this brings. I do my best to make my sessions relevant and fun and will always take the time to reflect on what can do to make the sessions even better. I look forward to meeting you!
